LAPA - WEST FALL SYMPOSIUM
October 5, 2019
October 5, 2019
A delegation of four people representing the Sherwood forest Lake District attended the Lake and Ponds Association Fall Symposium in Pittsfield on October 5.
The program was dedicated to the topic of Cyanobacteria, most commonly known as "blue-green algae".
Speakers from the DCR, Mass Wildlife, Water Resources, Inc and several local educators spoke on the causes, toxicity, treatment, and prevention methods for commonly seen algae blooms.
The seminar was a great opportunity for Lake District members to meet with experts in the field and learn more about the tools we have to keep our lakes in excellent health.
The five lakes in Sherwood Forest are routinely cited as being among the cleanest in the Berkshires! Thanks to all the proprietors who work hard to keep them that way!
